The U16 season startet the 7th of may in Kristiansand against Kristiansand Gladiators. The day started early for the junior team, the bus left Frogner Stadium at 07.00 with 23 exited, young vikings. Some had played many games before, but for a few player this would be their first game.

Right from the start of the game it was obvious that this was the first game of the season for all involved, both teams had problems with miscommunication and time management. Both teams defence played good, hard football and stopped the opposing offences. At half time the teams tied at 0-0.

After the break Gladiators started best and got in a few good plays, and Gladiators got up to a 20-0 lead. But the young Vikings didn't give up, and the offence ended a good drive with a touchdown by Sebastian Sveinhaug Hoffmann. The game ended 22-6.

Despite the loss the team showed that they possess a lot of skill and heart. This is going to be the most exiting U16 season in years. The next game is 15th of may, at home against Vålerenga Trolls 14.00.
